TODAY WE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE A CASE OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SMART TOOLSID SYSTEM (STORAGE AND CONTROL OF THE USE OF MOBILE DEVICES IN THE WAREHOUSE). IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2022 SEVERAL CABINETS WERE INSTALLED IN THE MOSCOW REGION, IN THE WAREHOUSE CENTER OF OUR PARTNER, HOUSEHOLD LOGIC COMPANY.
The system was designed upon the individual request, and consists of several types of cells, some of which are equipped with cradles for data collection terminals.
How did the idea emerge to use this solution in your warehouse?
— The need to get away from the manual accounting of mobile equipment emerged a few years ago, but at that time such a solution was not offered by any supplier in Russia. A couple of years before such systems were introduced in the market, and we were in the position then to compare and evaluate competing products. We first saw the TOOLSiD at the ATEUCO stand at CeMAT, and eventually TOOLSiD was preferred.
It should be noted here that all stages of production are carried out at our factory in Moscow (starting from design, metal cutting, assembly to software development and improvement), so we were able to implement individual customer requests regarding the dimensions, composition and equipment of the cells. Several items of products and materials shall be placed in the cabinets. These are data collection terminals (with cradles and spare batteries), mobile printers, printer cartridges.
What tasks did you set by introducing the automatic storage and delivery system into business processes?
— The main task that was expected from the implementation of TOOLSiD is to get away from manual accounting and to release time for shift supervisor for more efficient work. After a while, another advantage became obvious – the transparent control system encourages more responsible use of the equipment.
What was the staff response to the innovation in the work?
The implementation of TOOLSiD did not cause any difficulties in terms of staff training and changing the algorithm for release and return of the equipment.
